Teresa Chan’s passion for design began as a young child, sitting hours at a time in her grandfather's tailoring business in San Francisco. She was mesmerized by the beautifully patterned fabrics as he worked tirelessly. Teresa took this love of design to San Francisco State University, studying Industrial Arts with an emphasis on Graphic Communications. From SFSU, she was accepted to study Advertising Design at Chung Yuan University in Taiwan.
Following her studies, Teresa launched a career encompassing all phases of production and design. She has now come full circle with Chan Graphics, returning to surface pattern design, to the memories of her grandfather, to the language of part and whole. Her style is vintage with a modern twist, organic and playful, waking our imagination and memories through the design workings of florals, animals, and keepsakes of all kinds.
